Meetings and events are held on or about a quarterly basis with additional educational, networking and social opportunities available from time to time by way of invitation from similar commercial real estate organizations such as the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association (COLBA) and the Commercial Real Estate Organization (CREO).

YOBA events are funded through support from sponsors including architects, attorneys, contractors, construction consultants, engineers, furniture specialists, building owners and landlords.

The Cape Horn Group has graciously volunteered to host a breakfast seminar at the LaSalle Wacker Building to give members an overview of the office condo market and how to better serve your clients and prospects asking about the option of ownership. Learn how to negotiate the sale transaction and the difference in tenant improvement costs. Find out how to leverage your client’s position in the marketplace against standard leases and what the exit strategy is. What are your competitors doing that you aren’t? Come and find out. Golub & Company has graciously sponsored a construction panel to give members an opportunity to listen to three prominent GC’s discuss how to get the most bang for your buck when building out space. The panel will consist of representatives from Leopardo Construction, Clune Construction, and Skender Interiors Group and Lee Golub will be the moderator to keep things from getting out of hand. As construction costs continue to rise and landlord’s are trying minimize allowances in this tight market, knowing where costs can be reduced can give you a leg up on closing a deal or winning new business. There will be a raffle for those in attendance to win an iPhone and Golub will provide complimentary drinks and food for everyone that attends.
